26 July 2007. By Anders Riedel A tip! Feel like listening to some good music while taking your Vette out for (in this case) a slow and comfortable spin? Here's a tip to some good music worth listening to, while you're cruising into the sunset. I admit it's not the right music for drag racing or if you want to burn some rubber with your local wanna-be-race-drivers. This is music for smooth driving on a warm day. Well, if you made it this far you might as well get the title... It's "Try a Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding. Perhaps you would like to step a bit on it about 2.45 minutes into the song, but no doubt - it's a joy to listen to while driving! Another good tip from Otis Redding... "These Arms Of Mine", "That's How Strong My Love Is" and "I've Been Loving You Too Long". I'm not even old enough to have "witnessed" Otis in real life, not even on live TV and I'm really just a pale European, but to me it's oldies like these that bring the extra spirit into the car, and it's tunes like these that makes me thrilled that I have one mean stereo, because there are a couple of pipes craving for the attention as well, and they need to be drowned out. Let me know what you are listening to, when you're driving - or perhaps you're like me, because most often I really just appreciate the engine more than any other sound - except for the birds twittering away - They always seem to win the "battle of sounds" and thank you for that! Bring on the hits... PS. The headers have arrived - whoaaah! |
